Darginka is now being bred to Salam!

Darginka is at the vet’s for her first breeding, which will take place tomorrow! We hope that Dr. Juan Samper is the breeding hero for us that he is for others! Salam’s semen was shipped today so the AI is set to go.

There is more about Salam at Freedom Run Farms! They even have a page on his pedigree research by Ryabova Tatyana

Photos are from Akhalt-Services!

Cool – He looks like a bronze equestrian statue in the 2nd picture. He’s very fancy.

Oh, I thought you were breeding her to the jumper stallion Metman?
Why did you change your mind to Salam? Just interested to understand how you think when you select stallions?
Maybe I’m asking a question to somehing you have already written but I do have some problems navigating you site, but that’s probalbly me that does not understand this format of a blog.

I do not mind corresponding privately about your Teke adventures but I thought the whole idea with this site was to have an open communication about your quest for Tekes and what you learned, it is such a good idea and I guess if it is kept open and transparent will serve a a good educational site for those of us that have been around for a while as well as new comers.
As you are a frequent visitor to my blog at http://www.karakumstud.com you see that there I answer questions and comments on the blog.

I sent an e-mail to you to converse about Tekes, but I can answer on here as well. Your blog is great as a learning tool. This blog has mostly been just comments but discussion is always great!

To respond to your comment, I really wanted a foal from Metman as his foals in Russia are really great. Unfortunately the vet sent bad sperm and so we had to try again.

The next time Salam was home and available and I thought that Darginka would be a good cross with him as well because of his height. Also Darginka and Metman are really alike so I thought that Salam might add some type. Unfortunately the vet again goofed, this time on sperm dilution, and it didn’t work again! Maybe if we were to try again I would try to breed Darginka to Magnatli!

Anne-Marie and I discussed it and since I am bringing over a stallion I will breed Darginka to him. I love all her stallions though, unfortunately this AI thing isn’t as easy as it sounds.

So the lesson here would be to breed local or have really deep pockets!
