Called the “Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang English equestrian inventor” by the Long Riders Guild, Simon Mulholland has come up with the SaddleCharriot:

We just have to get one of these!! It looks like so much fun. I figure we can hitch up the bike trailer, Michael can use the saddlechariot and I’ll ride! Maybe I will take Emma to preschool with this as well. So no need for 2 cars!! Talk about an ecovehicle!
Here are a couple more photos that Simon has e-mailed me:
And some more information from Simon:
The saddlechariot is at its best on small animals, mostly because you get unbelievable maneuverability but with bigger animals it is frighteningly fast. For a number of complex reasons it imposes almost no load on the pony on level ground, or indeed quite bumpy ground and once you are going fast enough you just skim over the bumps.
Price is £1275 for the 10hh size, and approx £100 more for Akhal Teke size, but same vehicle can be made to fit both. Price includes full collar harness, fitted perfectly.
It takes a wide range of attachments, shown are trailer, spring tine rake, lawn slitter, roller, brush, logging rig and fertiliser spreader.
