We did a mad dash down to buy a horse trailer in the US (4 horse stock) and drove 1,200 km in a couple days. We stopped at Cathy Leddy’s place, Cascade Gold Akhal-Tekes, and at Milena Stoszek’s Akhal-Teke Ranch.
My camera is in getting repaired so I had a phone for a while until it ran out of batteries after one photo at Milena’s place! I will go down in the spring when the horses have their nice coats on, but they still looked good all fuzzy! My photos do not do them justice.

These are 3 really beautiful fillies. The bay is very exotic (I believe she is Alav (Astrachan x Anastasia 2004) , the buckskin is Sahra Giz (Astrachan x Shazada Giz – 2006), and the palomino is Kamileshen (Aliger x Anastasia – 2005), who is my favourite.

My one photo from Milena’s is my favourite: AZIM (Arik x Valentyna 2004, line Arab) ! I would buy him if I had more money!
He is a great horse, not just a great Akhal-Teke!!
I think Azim will be an important cross to Akpay in developing a strong line Arab (foal would be inbreeding on Ametist 3, 4, 5).
Also for Darginka whose dam line is Arab (foal would be inbreeding on Ametist 3, 4) and is more typical of the Arab line.
They are both great breeders and I hope to learn lots from them.
(Humm, Michael – don’t you think we could use another mare (Kamileshen) and Azim would make a great endurance horse!!)
Here is Azim’s brother by Arik (from Milena’s site):

This is one nice horse – definitely a breeding stallion with a nice pedigree!

What’s the parentage of Azim ?

It was great to see you and Michael (and the kids too!) this weekend. Hope we have lots more visits. I’m amazed at how good your photos are, even NOT on your good camera. Thanks!

Kerri. It will be the big error to make cross Akpay and Azim. The stallion should be up to standard of a mare. Instead of much more low, as Azim. And you risk to receive only a sports horse, instead of AT. What about other son of Aryk at Milena? A black stallion of the same age, how Azim, only more interesting on type?

I have added photos of Azim’s brother by Aryk from Milena’s site, he does look very much more typey with the same great conformation!
