Well, as we are becoming a legal business entity and have now done name searches we have ended up with the legal name of Argamak Stud as the other names, including our “Golden Dreams”, were taken. Although the name is unique in Canada there are 4 other Argamak studs. We are considering using “Argamak Gold” or “Argamak Canada” unofficially to distinguish ourselves. We now are going to use Argamak.ca as our url and will be doing a website overview soon as well. The above outline of Habib is going to be our logo!

Who has 2 young “Champions of the World” this year:
PAMEL-Kan, buckskin, 2005, Melesur – Plejada, Sovhoza 2nd, title: YOUNG CHAMPION OF WORLD in class of 2 year old colts and best conformation among juniors.
SAMIR-Kan, dark-bay, 2005, Melesur – Sabirli, Sovhoz 2nd, title: YOUNG CHAMPION OF WORLD in class of two years old fillies
And this one: Studfarm Argamak, but I can’t get the site to work to find out more about them.
So we are certainly in good company, and will work to be as good as these well established stud farms!!

Kerri-Jo,
No offense, but couldn’t you come up with a name that isn’t already used? The teke community is very small, and even though you may not have been aware of Agramak Studfarm in The Netherlands, all of us in Europe are, and probably most of the serious breeders in the US as well.
Or if you were aware, then I think it shows a certain lack of respect for the identity of an established studfarm.
Just my opinion,

I submitted a list of names to the government for approval, thinking that the first choice, Golden Dreams Stud, would be approved. Unfortunately it was already taken, as well as our other “golden” choices. The last choice I put down was Argamak Stud and that is the one they picked. So now we are thinking about what to do.

Argamak Canada though not very original is the most practical. It like the others named Argamak and the country in which it is located makes it easy to look them up. Save the fancy names for the horses.
In my opinion it is the best choice.
I am sure most intelligent people will not get Canada confused with the Netherlands or Russia.
I enjoyed your pictures. Your horses are beautiful.
Great job bringing these horses to Canada!

Too bad they wouldn’t let you use golden dreams as name. It’s such a good name.
As you have to go with argamak, try if they agree in using Canada in the name. That will prevent confusion just as Patricia said.

Lisa, I think at the end of the day what is important is the name of the breeder.
I know you but honestly, I wouldn´t remember your legal name. The same with Clara, with Sabine Topfer, oand the rest of the breeders, at least for me…
