A slide show and talk on “Celestial Horses” to raise money for research on grass sickness will take place near Tewkesbury on 16 November.
“Celestial Horses: Travels in Turkestan” will be given by Gill Suttle FRGS, who used horses as transport during her travels through central Asia.
Gill’s presentation will cover central Asia through a camera lens, the present-day role of the Turcoman Horse, the Akhal-Teke and other strains, and the story of one special horse.
As an ME sufferer, Gill used the horse as a form of transport on her travels, developing a special bond with an Akhal-Teke stallion, which she ultimately rescued and brought back to the UK.
