Akhal Teke UK

Check out the new website from Akhal Teke UK!

Thank you so much for the great interviews with Teke people:
Leonid Babaev, Ingrid Jutta Høvik, Soren Nielsen, Michele Van Kasteren and Christoph Vogel

They have great information about the breed with a couple of translated articles (hope to see lots more!!) and information on Orlan, Gaigisiz, and Dagestan, with the promise of more to come!

Check out their coming events in 2008!

My favourite is an Akhal-Teke charity race! We really need to set one up here as well, good job. I hope everyone brings their horses who are eligible to enter, whether they think they are race material or not. Just to get a large field would be great. It’s all about the horses and Tekes are made to run!!

Plus they have booked photographer Denis Avetisyan to Akhal-Teke UK at the Devon County Show. So we know we will be getting a lot of amazing shots of some great Akhal-Tekes!!

Akhal Teke UK has also worked out a system of studbook registration with VNIIK. Hopefully they can help us out at Akhal-Teke Canada to get started as well!!!

Here are the UK Akhal-Tekes they have pages for so far:

Thanks Kerri for your lovely comments. We have worked on the website for a while and have finally got to the stage where we felt it could be published. But it is in no way finished yet and we will continue to work on adding/improving it. More articles and a collection of factual data is in the plans, as well as new interviews. Blogs for Leonid, Alexander Klimuk and Tatyana have also been suggested. We will keep everyone updated! We are also working on registering the breed with DEFRA (UK agricultural body), national register for UK Tekes and issuing Teke passports in this country, as well as VNIIK registration, so it is a big step for UK. Just wish there were more hours in the day!
