All the horses are now started under saddle. Akpay is very smooth with great gaits, Pagoda really seems to love being ridden, Darginka isn’t sure she wants to give up control yet and Davinia just loves any attention!

Akhal-Teke colt Karat

Karat is a yearling buckskin colt. He is by Arim and out of Katrin and was bred by Akhal Texas. He is going to be one big athletic colt! If you want a nice big Teke you better get him now!!

Akhal-Teke stallion Aad

Aad is a tall elegant older stallion. He is by Anchar and out of Azochka and was imported from Russia by Akhal Texas. Although he is older he is in good shape and hopefully we will see lots more of his foals!

Akhal-Teke stallion Kogan

Kogan is another massive built stallion who jumps and does dressage. He is 16 years old and by Koshili and out of Gerel and owned by Akhal Texas. Kogan has been out of training for years but hopefully his training will resume shortly.

Akhal-Teke stallion Maruk

Maruk is a big built buckskin stallion by Munir and out of Ataka bred by the Pontecorvos of Akhal Texas.
He is a big bold golden stallion of the highly acclaimed Ak Sakal line for breeding traditional old style Turkoman horses.

Akhal-Teke stallion Helm

Helm is by Melesur out of Hanbibi, so is a half brother to Arim. Akhal Texas has sold him to a dressage rider and Helm is under advanced dressage training. He sure is a beauty to watch!

Akhal-Teke stallion Tarzan

Tarzan is a a stunning golden buckskin colt born in 2005 by Arim and out of Toscana bred by the Pontecorvos of Akhal Texas.
He has a sweet and curious temperament and is just started training under saddle.

Eramay is a a very elegant shining bay colt born in 2005 by Arim out of Europa bred by the Pontecorvos of Akhal Texas. He is truly stunning.

Akhal-Teke stallion Arim

Arim is a big handsome black stallion by Melesur out of Abrai bred by the Pontecorvos of Akhal Texas. He is a well behaved and polite stallion. They are just starting him under saddle. I want a colt out of this magnificent beast!

Akhal-Tekes to South America!

Willy Lockheart is importing the first Akhal-Teke into South America. Dutar, born 1999 by Taigir and Duigurgush, was bred by the Pontecorvos in Russia and imported into the US as a colt. He will start training for endurance racing soon after arrival at his new home in Uruguay!

Davinia, day 3

These are photos of Davinia on her 3d day. Davinia means “beloved” in Scottish, so she is named the same as her sire Habib, which is a Persian name meaning “beloved”.
She is a big, bold filly with some spunk. We think she is an improvement on her dam and perhaps on her sire as well. [...]

I’m trying to get sport information on Akhal-Tekes who are currently being campaigned in jumping. These are the horses I could find, if you have more information on these horses or others can you please let me know!!

Here are some of my favourite horses (for different reasons) from photos I can find. I want to learn more about conformation and think about what draws me to these photos. In general what is good conformation? Which is the fastest, the best for endurance, the best jumper, the best for dressage? And also, how much are body types affected by training (type/or lack of)?
